Free mobile menu plugin
Mobile Menu is a free WordPress plugin that lets you add a menu option to your site for improved responsiveness, much like WP Mega Menu, Accordion Menu, and Superfly Responsive Menu. You can add up to three menu levels for your readers to dive into, giving them more depth to your content. There’s also a library of Google Fonts available for more variety.
If you’re willing to upgrade to the Premium version, you’ll have a few more tools available. For instance, you can disable menus on any pages that you deem unnecessary. You can also change menu types for different pages if you find other options more relevant. For the most part, you can get away with using the free version.
Add menus to mobile site versions
While menus are easy to place on desktop sites, they aren’t always as responsive on the mobile versions. Mobile Menu corrects this issue, ensuring that your audience has a decent menu that can drop to three levels. You can also change the appearance of the mobile version, swapping the colors and fonts to make them more appealing.
It creates an overlay mask on the site that opens up when accessed. In that way, it forms a naked header that only appears when needed.
Branding and images
If you really want to make the menus stand out, Mobile Menu lets you add background images for the menus. You can also add your logo or branding to them, making sure they know exactly on which site they are at any giving time. It’s an excellent touch that will impress your audience.
Advanced tools
For the advanced features, you’ll need to upgrade to the Premium version. Some of the extra tools include changing the menu display type, showing menus for specific registered members, and sliding menus. While you don’t really need these for a basic site, it would have been better if the header banners and footer menus were available as free options.
Improved mobile responsiveness
Mobile Menu is incredible for adding menus for your mobile audience, especially if that’s where most of your readership is. If you find them complaining that your mobile site isn’t very friendly, you may want to give this plugin a chance. There are enough features in the free version to assist.
